\u00d8rland is surrounded by sea on three sides and therefore is a good base for kayak trips in the Stj\u00f8rn Fjord, the Bjugn Fjord and the Trondheims Fjord with Kjeungskj\u00e6r lighthouse and the islands “Juldagan” at Uthaug. Austr\u00e5tt Golf Course<\/a> is a 9 hole course which was completed in 2008. The course is beautifully placed surronded by forest with a wiev to the Trondheim Fjord and the manor of Austr\u00e5tt.<\/p>\n If you need to, golf clubs can be rented with us at Austr\u00e5tt Agrotourism.<\/p>\n Located at the southwestern tip of the Fosen peninsula, \u00d8rland is surronded by sea. Tourists vacationing with us have good possibilities for activities at sea.<\/strong><\/p>\n Fishing<\/strong><\/p>\n In Austr\u00e5tt marina, some hundred meters from K\u00e5rstua, we have a steady console boat with 25 hp for rent. It is well suited for bringing the daily fish catch on the table.<\/p>\n Sailing<\/strong><\/p>\n The sailboat\u00a0which can be rented at Austr\u00e5tt Agrotourism is a Fabola Campus 650 (21 feet), a fun boat to sail. With a\u00a0swing keel it\u00b4s smallest depth is only 30 cm and can go into shallow water with the keel in the highest position. The swing keel also gives you the\u00a0possibility to put it on a trailer\u00a0and go wherever you want to go.<\/p>\n ,Some hundred meters from K\u00e5rstua you can turn in to the well developed network of faciliated foot and bicycle paths in the area. Sheltered from car traffic they really invites to use the bike. You can happily have a morning trip on the bike in the flat, open area.<\/p>\n On a vacation without a\u00a0car you can experience \u00d8rland on a bicycle within reasonable time. If the weather is good we recommend an evening trip to Uthaug to watch the sun go down into the sea. You can go\u00a0there by bike in less than one hour. Sj\u00f8gata at Uthaug, with its old fisherman homes from the middle of the 1800s, is also worth a visit.<\/p>\n Whoever wants to try out island hopping can go by bike to Garten and take the ferry to Storfosna. From there the ferry goes via the island Leksa to V\u00e6rnes in the Agdenes municipality. However, first you should explore the islands Storfosna and Kr\u00e5kv\u00e5g which belongs to the \u00d8rland municipality. Kr\u00e5kv\u00e5g and Storfosna have a bridge\u00a0connection. Going back to \u00d8rland, you have to take the ferry from Valset to Brekstad.<\/p>\n Several good suggestions to round trips can be found in the brochure “Sykkel\u00d8rland”<\/a>, which is made by \u00d8rland Culture Center. At \u00d8rland Culture Center bikes can be rented .<\/p>\n Storjektvika is a nice, sandy beach close to the marina and not far from the manor of Austr\u00e5tt. It is a nice walk\u00a0\u00a0from K\u00e5rstua to the beach\u00a0through the grove, Austr\u00e5ttlunden.<\/p>\n At the beach there is also a lawn where you can lay down and sunbathe or enjoy avtivities like vollyball or football. We can\u00b4t promise you high water temperatures, but on warm\u00a0summer days you can find the good life in Storjektvika.<\/p>\n Close by\u00a0the beach you can find Skjegghaugan, burial mounds from the viking age. In a famous norse saga it is said:<\/p>\n There was a mighty farmer called Skjegge, he was called Iron Skjegge. He lived at Opphaug at \u00d8rland, …… And while the king was at the hof, Iron Skjegge was killed outside door, and that was done by the men of the king……. When Iron Skjegge was killed his body was moved to \u00d8rland, he lies in the Skjegge mound at Austr\u00e5tt.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Around the farm you can meet roe deer, moose, fox and squarrel. In Austr\u00e5ttlunden, the grove of Austr\u00e5tt, you can find a distinctive and varied habitat. This forms the basis for a rich animal life. It has been registered more than 70 bird species i Austr\u00e5ttlunden, amongst them several red listed species. Moose and roe deer are common animals in the grove.<\/p>\n For the interested birdwatcher \u00d8rland is an eldorado. In the area you can find four protected wetlands and is one of 63 Ramsar areas in Norway. One of the four is Grandefj\u00e6ra Nature Reserve. The 10 km shoreline is the longest in Norway. It is registered more than 200 species in Grandefj\u00e6ra. Both in Grandefj\u00e6ra og Hovsfj\u00e6ra it is well facilitated for birdwatchers, the bird towers give a good overview over the area.<\/p>\n Several activities can be recommended. One of them is a hike in the area of Austr\u00e5tt, which is a fantastic base for good experiences. There are a lot of hiking alternatives in the area. Here you can try the historical foot and bicycle paths which have not been passable for hundreds of years. The work of restoring these paths was started in 2015 and today it has opened the unique manor landscape in the area around the manor of Austr\u00e5tt. Today it ties big parts of \u00d8rland together. Protected against car traffic, you can enjoy the peace and calm at one of the resting places, barbecue your food at one of the fireplaces or take a bath in Rusasetvatnet, the lake of Rusaset.<\/p>\n A two-minute walk from K\u00e5rstua you find the entrance to Austr\u00e5ttlunden, the grove of Austr\u00e5tt. This area is today a landscape protected area, but is well arranged for hiking with its good paths and resting places. Small boards with information about the nature and culture are placed along the 3 km circular track.<\/p>\n Rusasetfjellet, the mountain of Rusaset, has a net of paths that is well marked. If you wish a little more challenging experiences a little higher above the sea level, you can walk up to Osplikammen (285 m.o.s), the highest spot in Rusasetfjellet and also in \u00d8rland.
