During\u00a0the winter they are held\u00a0inside the barn, but when the spring arrives\u00a0and the sheeps have\u00a0lambed, many fine, black lambs bounce around on the field. They enjoy the fresh, green grass on pasture and are good landscape gardeners, which keeps the outfield and the mounds fine and nourished. When autumn comes they are again taken inside the barn.<\/p>\n<p>We take good care of the sheep so they\u00b4ll be fine and thrive. When you spend a lot of time with them they can be very trustful and affectionate.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to be pleasant animals, they produce the fertilizer to the vegetable and berry production in\u00a0the CSA.<\/p>\n<h3>Norsk Pelssau<\/h3>\n<p>The breed\u00a0Norsk pelssau is a blend\u00a0between Gotlandsf\u00e5r and\u00a0Gr\u00e5-bl\u00e5 Sp\u00e6lsau, a crossing which gives good pelt, suitable for sheep skin production. The pelt has a beautiful shine and a characteristic curl.<\/p>\n<p>The Pelt-sheep has easy lambing and few problems with their udder.\u00a0Commonly they get 1-2 lambs, but can get 3.\u00a0The breed is otherwise known for good motherhood. When experiencing danger they will seek together in a flock trying to protect their lambs against predators.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to improve your knowledge about norwegian sheep breeds you can read about it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rhonna.net\/norwegian-sheep-breeds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Sheep skin production<\/h3>\n<p>The pelt\u00a0from\u00a0Norsk Pelssau is curly, soft and silky with a great lustre. \u00a0The colour of the pelts varies from light to dark grey and should be uniform. The curl makes\u00a0the pelt springy and gives it good durability.<\/p>\n<p>In September and October we send the nicest\u00a0pelts to Donnia Skinn for the best treatment. This tannery delivers products of very high quality.\u00a0The pelts can be delivered uncut or cut down to a length of 18 or 35 mm.
